Kayal means backwater in Malayalam, and Varapuzha is where the Periyar opens into them: small islands, ferries and fishing nets a few minutes from the city's highways.

The house is let by the day. There is a suite room with its own sitting room, deluxe rooms in AC and non-AC, and a 2BHK flat with a full kitchen and a dining table.

Every room is finished in the same materials: teak furniture, marble-look floors veined in gold, zebra blinds, white linen and a slatted wood ceiling framed in cove light.
